About Helikon Shipping
Helikon Shipping was established in London in 1961.
Initially the company was acting as agent for owners and operators of second-hand bulk carriers employed in the tramp trades.
Since 2001, Helikon has focused exclusively on the management of newbuilding vessels. In the meantime, the commercial focus of the company has shifted to longer term timecharter agreements with reputable charterers.
To date Helikon represented owners have taken delivery of more than 30 newbuilding vessels, of which more than 20 were delivered within the last 5 years.
The latest fleet development consists of Helikon clients branching into tankers, with orders for 7 MR tankers from Hyundai Mipo Dockyard and Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding.
Currently, Helikon’s clients have an orderbook of a further 13 bulk carriers and 2 MR tankers.
